How we create content
Saving Optimizer guides are researched and drafted with AI assistance, then checked against official Canadian sources before they are published. This page explains that process, how dates work, and how affiliate disclosures work.
Does Saving Optimizer use AI?
Yes. AI tools assist with research, outlines, and first drafts of Saving Optimizer guides. We say so on every guide, in a short note near the end of the page.
How is each guide checked?
Each guide is checked against official Canadian sources: the Canada Revenue Agency, canada.ca and other federal departments, provincial and territorial government sites, and regulators such as the CRTC, the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, and provincial energy and insurance regulators. For product terms, we use the provider's own page. Sources are listed on the guide, usually in a "Sources" section with the date they were checked.
When a figure could not be confirmed on an official page, the guide tells you where to check instead of guessing.
Are the numbers real?
We do not invent figures. Limits, rates, fees, and dates come from a named source. When a guide uses a worked example to show the arithmetic, the example is labelled "Example with made-up inputs" so it is never mistaken for a quote, an average, or your result.
How do dates work?
Each guide shows "Updated" with a date. The published date is the day the guide went live. The updated date changes only when the content changes, such as a new limit, rate, or rule. We do not change dates to make a page look fresh.
Is this financial advice?
No. Saving Optimizer is education only. It is not financial, tax, legal, or insurance advice, and it does not know your situation. Confirm anything that matters with the official source or a licensed professional before you act.
How do affiliate disclosures work?
Some guides mention types of offers, such as a kind of bank account or credit card. If a page contains an affiliate link, it says so in writing, names the brand, and places that disclosure before the link. An affiliate relationship does not change what a guide says. We do not publish rankings of products, and a guide never tells you to buy something because a link pays.
